Visit PLAY orchestra, the unique interactive sound installation on the South Bank. South Bank Centre, From Saturday 19 August until Sunday 30 September, 8am-1pm.

The ultimate surround sound system is coming to the South Bank Centre courtesy of the Philharmonia Orchestra. Imagine controlling the orchestra, hearing the music from the inside, outside, and then taking it home on your mobile phone.

PLAY orchestra is based outside the Royal Festival Hall and consists of 56 plastic cubes and 3 Hotspots laid out on a full size orchestra stage, each cube containing a light and speaker. You can sit down on the cube or stand in the hotspot to turn on that instrument. You will then switch on Bluetooth on your mobile phone and receive a ringtone of the piece you've created as well as other Philharmonia Orchestra ringtones.
