I Am The Mighty Jungulator win Diesel-U-Music award 2004
I Am The Mighty Jungulator won the left field electronica award at the 2004 Diesel-U-Music awards. The award ceremony was to be televised on Channel Four so we had to go down to London for the day and do media stuff like hang around for ages in Fabric nightclub (the venue for the award ceremony) being interviewed as to our thoughts regarding the influence of James Brown, John Peel, and the importance of encouraging new music, and that.watching Kasabian poncing around like Madchester never happened.
Evening came on and brought with it the media circus...loads of folk got awards for this that and the other, celebrity types were seen around the venue, then there were performances by everyone in the various rooms of the club
Heres the three tracks that won us our award...
heres a clip of us accepting our award from the delightful Edith Bowman, and a bit of a montage of our part of the show...
Diesel-U-Music also oversaw a touring winners showcase, whereby the winners of each category were bundled together with previous winners and sent off to play in various venues around the UK. We got to fly up to Edinburgh to play at a club called Redux, along with a bunch of other alleged "left-field" types that Diesel didn't know what to do with...
lots of fun though, and we visited Edinburgh Castle the following morning, then watched the local police try to talk a man out of committing suicide by jumping off a bridge.
